Preparing for Your Breast Augmentation Consultation

Women considering breast augmentation at one of our surgery centers in the Vancouver area all start with a comprehensive consultation. This initial visit allows you to ask questions, discuss your goals and expectations, and to learn more about the procedure.

Advanced preparation for breast surgery can give you more confidence in your decision by providing you the information you need. Plastic surgeon, Dr. Eric Pugash and his team are happy to offer a discreet, stress-free environment where you can take the next step in the process of attaining the breasts you desire. Though we perform the procedure every day, we understand this is a new experience for most of our patients.

How to Prepare for Your Breast Augmentation Consultation

Although we will provide you with all the necessary information before surgery, it’s still prudent to do your research before meeting with Dr. Pugash for consultation. You can read about the different implant options as well as incision techniques and what you can do personally to ensure a successful procedure.

We recommend you bring with you a list of questions you may have about the procedure. These will become more obvious during your research. They may include:

  • Which incision technique do you recommend?
  • Which type of breast implant would work best for me?
  • What types of anesthesia is right for me?
  • Will I need a breast lift as well?
  • Will I keep my natural crease, or will you need to lower it?
  • Explain the risks and possible complications, and how can we reduce them?

Bringing the questions you would like answered during your consultation will make your initial visit more productive and give you the confidence you need to make the decision that’s right for you.

What Should You Bring?

There are a few things you need to bring to the consultation besides the questions you want to be answered. Dr. Pugash will need to review your health records and medical history and discuss them with you. These should include any prior surgeries, hospitalizations, allergies, diseases, and medical condition. If you are taking medication, you may want to bring a list of those as well.

To discuss your aesthetic goals, pictures of women who demonstrate the breasts you desire after enhancement will be helpful, as will images that show what you don’t want. An in-depth discussion about your goals will allow Dr. Pugash to understand your cosmetic goals clearly and make for a successful surgery and recovery.

Conclusions

While you may experience some anxiety before surgery, the consultation process will alleviate most if not all of your concerns. Our goal is that you feel comfortable before, during, and after surgery. After meeting with Dr. Pugash, we are sure you will feel you selected the right surgeon to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. He commits his entire practice to your safety and wellbeing as well as your desired outcome.
