Get Ready for the New Year with These Body Procedures

When the festivities of the holidays are finally over, many women find themselves ready for a new start. The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to finally address those body concerns that have been plaguing you and affecting your self-esteem. Have you been considering a body procedure to address stubborn fat deposits, sagging skin, or drooping breasts? Now is the time to schedule a consultation with Dr. Eric Pugash to get the process started! Here are some body procedures Dr. Pugash offers that can help make your new year the best one ever!

Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty, more commonly known as a “tummy tuck,” is an operation that tightens abdominal muscles and reduces excess fat and skin from the stomach area. Dr. Pugash offers the full tummy tuck, which addresses the area between the ribs and public area, as well as the mini-tummy tuck, which focuses only on the area below the navel. A tummy tuck normally begins with liposuction to remove excess fat deposits in the waist and hip area. After liposuction is complete, an incision is made across the lower abdomen so that loose abdominal muscles can be tightened and excess skin and fat can be removed. The abdomen is then carefully stitched back up.

Tummy tucks are usually performed as outpatient procedures, though they occasionally require a one-night stay in the clinic. Patients can expect to wear a compression garment during the month following the procedure and can plan to return to their daily schedule after three to four weeks. Strenuous activity should be avoided for six to eight weeks to allow for complete healing. Once fully healed, scars will be visible around the navel and across the lower abdomen. However, patients generally find it is easy to hide the scars under most clothing.

Breast Lift

Sagging breasts are another body issue that many women experience after childbirth or as part of the normal aging process. A breast lift can give the breasts a perkier, more youthful appearance and can help women enjoy wearing swimsuits and other more revealing clothing again. Breasts lifts are performed under general anesthesia and usually take around two hours to perform. During the surgery, some of the breast skin will be removed, and the level of the nipple and areola will be raised. After healing, patients will usually be left with a ‘lollipop’ scar. These scars fade over time, and most women find they are easily hidden under swimwear and bras.

Many women choose to combine their breast lift with a breast augmentation if they have lost breast volume. Dr. Pugash can discuss the pros and cons of combining the surgeries during a consultation to see if this is a good fit for you.

Weight loss, pregnancy, or the normal effects of aging can have profound effects on your body. If you find that you are self-conscious about wearing revealing clothing or swimsuits or find that your body is a constant source of unhappiness, now is the right time to schedule a consultation with Dr. Pugash to see if one of his many body procedures is appropriate for you. Start 2019 with a body you can be proud of!
