Breast Augmentation – Highly Cohesive Gel
At the plastic surgery offices of Dr. Eric Pugash, patients are treated with the highest respect and understanding. Dr. Pugash strives to realize the aesthetic dreams of all his Vancouver silicone breast implant patients, and offers all implant types. In addition to saline and cohesive gel breast implants, he offers so-called “gummy bear” breast implants. They are available in round or anatomic (‘tear drop’) form and usually have a fuzzy or textured surface. Although solid they do have a fairly natural feel, with the added advantage that they are unlikely to leak. Highly cohesive gel implants produce very little rippling compared to saline devices, but implants with a textured surface can produce more rippling than those with smooth surfaces.
These implants may be useful in the markedly drooping breast where the implant may need to be placed in front of the pectoralis muscle. In these cases saline implants may produce visible rippling. Anatomic or tear drop shape highly cohesive implants can be especially useful in these situations.
Highly cohesive silicone gel implants may require a relatively long incision to insert as they are pre-filled and cannot be compressed to the same degree as other implants.
Dr. Pugash is a Vancouver-area breast augmentation provider skilled in the use of all the available implants, including highly cohesive gel devices. He will help you choose the right implant for you based on a thorough exploration of your goals and an assessment of your breast size and shape. Dr. Pugash will also help you decide whether you should combine breast implants with a breast lift to achieve the most flattering results.
